He is the former chairman of Organ Transplantation Branch of Shanghai Medical Association, Standing Committee of Organ Transplantation Branch of Chinese Physicians Association, and Vice Chairman of Organ Transplantation Branch of Research Hospital Association. He was a member of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and Vice Chairman of the Renal Transplantation Group, and Vice Chairman of the Dialysis and Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Biomedical Engineering Society.
He has been engaged in clinical and basic research on renal transplantation for more than 30 years, and has carried out many new technologies in the clinical work of renal transplantation and multi-organ combined transplantation, and made many advances in the induction of immune tolerance in renal transplantation and its basic research. In 2018, he has presided over the first phage therapy clinical trial for super drug-resistant bacterial infection in China and promoted it to many medical institutions in China, and has established the Institute of Phage Research and the Shanghai Institute of Phage and Drug Resistance at Fudan University.
